Block Series - Modern Style - Block 9
Mar 15, 2023I like the composition of this one, having two frames the same. One is in the purple part of the quilt block and the other is in the grey triangles. It was time to try and do those ovals again, this is a design that I really do need to work on. Quick tip; I always find it best to hide your practice using other designs you are good at. After watching the playback of the video I think I know how I can make them better, by using a ruler! So simple I can't believe I didn't think about it, I use a ruler for matchstick and blunt piano keys, so why not ovals? I'll try that next time.

So here is the concept art, as I said last week I changed most of the piano key filler to something else because I had too much difficulty seeing around my camera.
I'm really getting into a groove with these blocks, I can not wait to see all of them together! I love how they are all so different but actually the same, this is a design style I am drawn to. I like cohesive things.
One more down and onto the last row! Here are some FAQ's
The machine is an older Handi Quilter Avante with a stitch regulator.
I am using Glide Thread in the colour white.
The marking pen I use is a Kering blue water-soluble marker (any blue one will do).
I used my Rocket Ruler by Silly Moon Quilt Co. and #20 Curve from the Quilted Pineapple
