Block Series - Modern Style - Block 12
Apr 05, 2023And here we are done! The final block of the modern series! By the end of this quilt, I would say my diagonal piano key has come a long way as well as my ovals. I'm very happy with this personal growth. I have learned so much about modern blogging and even more about video editing and all this tech stuff. I grew up in rural Northern British Columbia Canada. Although I am not quite 40 this stuff really is pretty foreign to me. Thank you so much for coming along on this journey.

Here is the concept sketch of this final block for the series.
I changed the inside medallion because I felt I needed one last block with some ovals. I loved this block and it was one of the faster blocks to stitch out my daughter (15) had an unfortunate observation. "I like it, mom, it kinda looks like a vagina" (lololol) she isn't wrong.
So with this vagina block, we say goodbye to this modern quilt block series. But don't worry, this isn't goodbye forever! Next week I will start a whole new series I have been working on, FEATHERS! I made a pieced version of this quilt using scraps from my stash and next week I will start quilting it!
The machine is an older Handi Quilter Avante with a stitch regulator.
I am using Glide Thread in the colour white.
The marking pen I use is a Kering blue water-soluble marker (any blue one will do).
I used my Rocket Ruler by Silly Moon Quilt Co.
Happy quilting.
