Sew Dang Easy - Mini Quilt Kit REVIEW
Nov 06, 2024After I reviewed the Mrs. Quilty Subscription box I had Amy from Sew Dang Easy reach out to me and ask me to take a look at one of her Mini Quilt Kits and give her back some honest advice. I didn't have a ton of time but decided to check out her links. After I had gone through Amy's website, Etsy, and her YouTube Channel I decided that I really did want to try one of these kits. Here is my full video review:

Amy allowed me to choose any kit I wanted, but I decided to just let her choose. What is notable is that Amy wasn't looking for a full review necessarily; she was asking for some honest feedback. So here it is.
Hahaha, joking aside, I was impressed. I received a Pride Flag Mini Quilt kit in a very reasonable amount of time, considering I'm in Canada. The kit was well packaged and had everything I needed to complete the project (other than my own quilting tools, like machine, thread, scissors, etc....). My favourite part was probably the premade binding (sweeeet). Of course, I forgot to take photos... but you can see everything in the video.
The kit actually came with two sets of instructions. The original set involves using the stabilizer, and I used this method. But there were instructions if you wanted to do it using a traditional piecing technique.
The fabrics were beautiful and high quality, the design was pleasing and easy to construct.
There were even quilting suggestions, which I also followed. The premade binding made finishing this little project very fast, and used a machine binding technique.
All in all a great kit for a weekend project, or if you need a gift really fast. This kit would be good for a beginner, or for someone who loves smaller projects, or a person who needs to take a break from making big complicated quilts.
The price point for these mini kits is good, considering what you receive, which is ultimately a finished project. Amy does have some of her designs in pdf. format for purchase if you already have a ton of scraps and want a fast easy project. Go check out her stuff if this sounds like something you would enjoy.
This is NOT a paid promotion, and I am NOT making a commission on any purchases through any of these links. I just genuinely liked it.
